REPORTS TO DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

We are currently looking for a Junior Staff Accountant located in San Diego! Seeking someone with a great personality and excellent interpersonal communication skills, who will assist the Director of Finance & Accounting with daily accounting functions. The right person for this role will have a passion for organization, the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple requests, and be a creative thinker when it comes to problem solving. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing accounting functions, key entries into QuickBooks Accounting System
  • Manage Accounts Payable / Receivable processes including
  • Preparing client invoices
  • Receiving and depositing client payments
  • Processing vendor bills, including collection of W-9’s from vendors and enter information into accounting system
  • Preparing checks/payment
  • Occasionally follow up with clients regarding payment
  • Coordinate bank deposits
  • Weekly cash flow reporting to Director of Finance & Accounting
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries
  • Appropriately allocate expenses on the income statement
  • Provide assistance with payroll processing
  • Organize and develop improvements on the overall bookkeeping process
  • Ensure internal accounting controls are implemented
  •  Assist with financial preparation for monthly reporting
  • Ad hoc financial reports, schedules, projects, duties as required

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • At least intermediate level Excel
  • Organized and extremely detailed, able to multi-task
  • Professional phone and email etiquette
  • Experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and payroll reports a plus
  • Demonstrable knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and strong internet skills required
  • Experience with QuickBooks a plus
  • Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field a plus

COMPENSATION AND PERKS

  • $35,000 – $42,000 DOE
